India Seva Program

SEVA INDIA

Reach Out Yoga launched in October 2010. Over the past year we have been studying the needs of Indias rural areas and working with AIM for Seva programs to help make a difference.

India witnesses a huge disparity between the urbanised wealthy and the rural poor. Although government initiatives are targeting this and attempting to redress the balance. India is a vast country and changes will take time. Aim for Seva is a grassroots initiative that has attracted a lot of attention over the past ten years. The chatralaya school projects we support are thriving because of the dedication of selfless service from Indias greatest teachers and local communities. Reach Out Yoga is helping make a difference in the rural areas by aiding these service projects. The greatest need these schools have is awareness, time and love. Your yoga school can make a big difference just by coming and staying with us, teaching yoga and English and letting these children know that you care.

Through concentrated and sustained efforts our project groups have begun to make a tangible difference in the areas Reach Out Yoga Foundation India has focused. By partnering with both local grass roots NGOs such as Aim for Seva, government agencies and international NGOs Reach Out Yoga has been able to actively understand and address some core issues in India and provide in meaningful way. Although we are a relatively small group of like-minded young people, the message we send in our presence and activities here has had a beautiful and significant effect.

We need more dedicated yogis to come, learn and serve with us. Every little bit helps. Are you and or your school up to the challenge?

Please send us a message and we will be in touch.

India has a truly rich and vibrant culture which must be experienced at first hand. In a country as diverse and complex as India, it is not surprising to find that cultures, traditions and values are quite different in the various geographic locations you will visit. Your experience here will be transformative as you share and help within the context of the culture. You will leave with new family and be able to share your experiences and journeys with your students and inspire them to grow.

Visas
If you choose to join an expedition in India you will need to obtain a visa before you enter the country. Your support coordinator will provide you with more information about obtaining a visa once you have signed up to expedition. Please visit India visa website and review your countries requirements and expectations.
